Operation save big dog… 19:40 - Apr 22 with 715 viewsLeoMuff

Mail reporting Downing st bracing for fine no.2 for the byob party in downing st garden, where 100 people invited to enjoy the lovely weather and byob.

Surely he is done if fined for this one, there can be no arguments of work related with that email invite. Fingers crossed anyways.

You underestimate the Conservative party and their disdain for everyone and everything.

Yet they probably wouldn't lose the next election when they should be dead in the water.

The polls say they would, the question they disagree on is whether Labour would win an overall majority or not

Do you imagine the shtshow coming down the line will help ?

Even the red wall thickos by then will finally grasp the reality that levelling up, oven ready deal and 'they need us....' were no more than lies to get elected.

When the email you received says during this incredibly busy period let’s take advantage of the lovely weather for some socially distanced drinks, meet at 6 byob with 100 people invited …..can you argue that a you thought it was work b it met the guidance c you didn’t know it broke the rules.

But yes no doubts there will be wriggling but this one leaves no doubt

Labour should walk it....the problem is they won't. Why...I don't know but Starmer just doesn't seem to connect. Oh for an Andy Burnham.

He should be done, but that has been the case for a very long time. Daily Fail still backs him, so he's not going to be feeling too much internal pressure just yet.

The Independent has

"At least two Downing Street staffers have received police fines for attending a ‘bring your own booze’ event on 20 May, 2020. In January Boris Johnson admitted he attended the event which took place when the nation was in lockdown, however he claimed he believed it was a work event."

However, this is more pertinent, as it gives the opposition another stick to beat the Tories with

"Adam Wagner, an expert on Covid-19 regulations who has been involved in a legal challenge to the Met’s initial refusal to investigate lockdown-busting Downing Street parties, questioned whether the police should observe pre-election period rules which typically place limits on Government publicity around elections."

"Sir John Curtice told The Independent that Partygate is set to be a major problem for the Tories at the May local elections — saying that the party’s polling had got worse since the PM was fined by the Metropolitan Police."
