Picture the scene.

It's January. Town top the table with Pompey in pursuit and January 31st arrives. As the transfer window is about to wrap up, Ashton picks up the phone to let Cowley and Co know that 15 goal Piggott is coming home, completely shafting Portsmouth, who have no time to replace The Pig, boosting our attack for the run in and weakening a rival.

Yeah, yeah I know. But here's the real question. When there's a recall clause, do you have to give notice of your intention to terminate it with 7 days notice or in advance or is the hypothetical above a reality? Not that we wouldn't be vilified in the media (or applauded).

Was just thinking about how the Piggott loan makes sense and that if, he does fire in a few there, we'd have the chance to bring him back or would Pompey likely protect against that by insisting on no recall? I assume we'd be happy with that as it guarantees us a contribution for wages across the season?

Is that you Danford?

Truly impaired.
Poll: Will you buying a Super Blues membership?

Yes. Always a notice period and normally a date where you have to commit to extend for the whole season. Normally that's around mid-Jan.

Thanks. Assumed so otherwise surely someone would have pulled this stunt by now.

Seems reasonable to allow the other club to find a replacement.
