Is it a total write off or any trains running?

Look at this Saturdays timetable and I imagine it’ll be around the same sort of thing.

First train from London this Saturday is 10:30. I suppose availability of drivers can differ from week to week during this strike action.

This is what is says on the Greater Anglia Trains website sense. As I would have to brave both Greater Anglia and South Eastern Trains, I will heed the advice and avoid travelling by train.

"This is a strike day. Our revised timetable will be available a few days before. We will update this section with a date. This will change the current train times in our journey planner.

Please avoid travelling with us. Our service will be heavily reduced and disrupted."

I am probably going to write off the early games of the season until the strikes are finished. The replacement busses take an absolute age, not so bad going but heading back feels like it takes forever.

You won't get rail replacement buses on strike days, will either be a train or no train.

Not sure if that makes it any better for your decision making but you might still be able to get a train.

Southeastern aren’t striking.

Southeastern aren’t striking.

They aren't on the 23rd which means I can get to the Millwall game, but they are on the 30th. This from the South Eastern website.

"ASLEF union is also due to take industrial action on the following date:

Saturday 30 July (between 00:01 and 23:59)"

Digging a bit further, the Southeastern website says the following.

"Saturday 30 July

There will be no Southeastern services running on the rail network on Saturday 30 July. Please do not attempt to travel by train on this day."

It's ASLEF, not the RMT, who are striking on 30 July, so perhaps this doesn't augur well for Greater Anglia. On the other hand, those working for Southeastern may be more militant.
