Friend of mine lives in Epping and he is a bit of a conservation freak, in fact we both looked at producing biodiesel years ago and he is now totally self sufficient, effectively driving all around the country on used kebab shop chip fat.
Anyhoo - he was about to put up solar panels at a cost of £10k but the council are making him apply for planning permission and suggesting he won't get it - because he lives in a conservation area...
....yet all he wants to do is conserve.  |  |

I am in the early stages of seeking approval for this for a Listed building in an ultra-sensitive planning area. It will be a battle, but this has a fighting chance, and if I get approval it will open up the floodgates for lots of others, which will make a difference both environmentally and in terms of energy security. |  | | |
