It's a refurbished joke from about 25 years ago when the stage play "The Madness of George III" was made into a film called "The Madness of King George", and Nigel Hawthorne (lead actor) was doing the talk show circuit.

"And our American producers told us we would have to change the name because nobody would go to "The Madness of George III" because they hadn't already seen "The Madness of George" and "The Madness of George II". "
