The post mortem is easy because 22:30 - Dec 2 with 1108 views | TalkingBlues | it's the same causes every time. We aren't clinical enough up top and we can't defend a lead. The only surprising thing, was that we didn't concede the lead before half time, because that's the consistent theme at home games so far this season. We have an appalling injury rate and I'd wager that several of the players starting tonight are carrying niggles, but is that much different from any other side we come up against? I don't know the answer to that one, but on paper and playing at home, there appeared more than enough to put a bang average Fleetwood side to bed. It's not a loss, but it sure does feel like one. There is absolute consistency in the areas we are weak, so I can only surmise one of two things, either KMC can't see the issues (difficult to believe as they are so obvious) or we haven't got the calibre of player to effect the changes he wants to make. January can't come quick enough and money needs to be spent to stop this season falling away.

If the squad is fit, we undoubtedly have one of the best squads in the league, but they're not fit, we've got bucket loads of medium and long term injuries, the squad is decimated. Do you realise that we didn't have a single senior midfield player to put on the bench tonight? Fans are currently being forced to place the weight of promotion expectation on a promising, but still learning 19 year old youngster in his first few senior games. You can try and cut it any way you like, but we are quite literally down to the bare bones, god forbid Morsy, or Humphrey's gets injured, cos we'll be up the creek without a paddle. As I said, January can't come quick enough, we need 4 or 5 new additions.

Given that Xmas is around the corner, we need to do a "little donkey" and just keep plodding onward, on the dusty road, toward the January window, when we can upgrade donkey to a Suffolk Punch

The post mortem is easy because on 23:54 - Dec 2 with 922 views | BonchosBicycle | I don't understand why, in the last 15 minutes or so of games we are leading, we start just hoofing the ball back at the opposition and letting them have another go. Just go to Lambert-Ball...keep boring possession. No need for much attacking intent, just stop giving them the ball. Back and forward across the midfield....keep them chasing. We play like we're under siege and it becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy. I was cringing when I heard "We are top of the league" being sung because we are so us. We are not quite out of the banter era yet. Yeah it's much better but....damn...

spot on,. what was strange was 2nd half, Burgess got the ball.. Wolfy stopped dropping back to give him an option of a pass, leaving Burgess no other choice but to lump it forwards. It was completely different in the first half. Burgess always had the option and it opened up spaces in midfield when a fleetwood striker moved across to press wolfy, he was able to pass it back to burgess who in turn had morsy dropping deep to take the ball on.

In fairness, I thought Humphreys looked the experienced pro of the central midfield pairing tonight. The thing is, we bring in 4-5 additions but for who? Obviously Ball as he's out for the season. Another striking option but we had a nightmare trying to bring someone in in August. Possibly Camara, dependent on the result of the assessment, which will be hilarious considering we signed him injured. Aluko, perhaps? But aren't he and Evans meant to be back soon?

I love Humphrey's, he looks like a seasoned pro much of the time and it's fantastic that the academy has produced, but I think it's unfair to place such a huge burden on the young lad so soon and I don't believe for a second that KMC would be doing it if he didn't have to. As you say, the issue is who to get rid of to allow for new players, for me, right now, I'd lose Keogh, TJJ (doesn't count towards squad, but no point having around, won't see a pitch again this season), Ball, Edwards, Ahadme, Camara. Edwards would be easy to loan out I'd imagine, Ahadme just get him out playing somewhere, Camara? (KMC's first big mistake possibly) no idea what we do here, but clearly not ready yet.

If we're getting rid of Ahadme and Camara in January after signing them in August... It's also a question of who we're bringing in to replace them as well. There is a salary cap, if I recall correctly, which we'll have to abide by. I personally think we'll replace Ball and John-Jules and that will be it, unless the injury prognosis on Camara is dire.

The difference currently, IMO, is mainly due to our injury list. A few weeks ago, we'd be attacking from start to finish with the usual 60/65th minute subs coming on, who were always forwards, to pile on more misery for our opponents, which is why the stats showed us as being a team that scored a lot of goals in the second half of games. Currently, we have a starting 11 that virtually picks itself (based on who is actually fit and able to start the game) it's bare bones, so that leaves KMC unable to rotate players effectively, meaning there's a much larger burden being placed on others, who are getting fatigued. We need to sign players in January , simple as that, well, and hope that some of the injured get up to speed quickly.

Well, for me, Ahadme was what I would call a "panic signing", we missed our main target of the entire summer and needed an extra body, which turned out to be this guy, who subsequently got injured immediately (classic Ipswich). Camara, I'm not sure what to say on this, signing someone with a serious injury is risky, at best, but this one looks to have backfired spectacularly. The salary cap was ruled out, then there were 400 other proposals and I believe we ended up back at the 60% of revenue financial model, which alongside squad size limits, probably require us to loan out/sell some players, which would be the lot I mentioned earlier, players like Ahadme would be ideal to loan out to gain fitness and get wages off the books, Edwards we'd probably be able to sell for a decent sum.
