72 points, 70 goals... 17:37 - Mar 11 with 431 views | Miaow | We’ve now (as we all would have expected) bettered our points total from the whole of last season, which was only the second time since 2004/05 that we had hit the 70 mark - the only other season since then that we achieved that was 2014/15 (78). That play-off season was also the only one since 04/05 where we scored 70+ goals in the league (72). An amazing win today. I didn’t watch the game but seeing the goals go in and then the full-time score flash up on the BT Sport videprinter was very nice indeed. I feel like this end-of-season tension is going to do me in. Having not been feeling too well this week, a huge three points like that can definitely help. Really good for George Hirst to get his first in the league for us and particularly satisfying as I had him to get the opening goal! Barnsley are certainly on the march but so are we, and Plymouth being beaten like that can’t be a bad thing. Just two points off the automatic promotion places now. Five victories on the bounce for us and six-and-a-half games without conceding, and that must be the best win of the lot. A brilliant recent record and it makes things interesting... | |
