Started brightly, got the goal (great goal at that) probably should have had a second, Chappers needed to header to an unmarked Hirst. Last 15/20 of the half, Derby took control back and should have scored, luckily Didz had a shocker at the back post. All their threat is coming down our left, Broadhead is not good at defending, but Leigh is solid and as expected, is winning tackles and every header, offers very limited attacking threat though.

Hirst has been a bystander first half, lost a lot of 50/50 headers and first touch has been poor, turning a lot of ball over. Tough call, but we might be better off with Ladapo coming on and holding the ball up, we are turning possession over too quickly and they are threatening on the counter, Didz first touch, passing and link up play is as impressive as ever, best player on the pitch by a country mile from a quality perspective.

For me, Broadhead is the best player on the pitch so far. The pass/vision is the obvious one. But even before that in the move, the thought to race out and be in that position. I get where you are coming from with McGoldrick, but he slows down their play a lot and only really became a viable outlet twice. Broadhead would have been through when their defender dived too!

I think we have had 2 clear chances to their 1. Shame Chaplin couldn't get the power to goal or direction to Hirst.

Enjoyed reading your perspective and fingers crossed for the second half.

Can't disagree, Broadhead has been great going forward, just taking it on a bit too far though, would like to see him get some shots off, he's got a great boot on him. McGoldrick has only been in a threatening position once (and ballsed it up thankfully) but he is running the show for them, dropping in and picking the ball up, distributing very well and getting their players moving forward, his first touch is mad, just stops the ball dead and the amount of times he sends his marker the wrong way with a flick, or dip of the shoulder is just mental, unplayable almost at this level with the ball at his feet. I would be very happy to have him playing in our side, that sort of individual quality is something we've missed since losing Celina.
