Given the surface sea temperatures are already at a record high, any El Nino event is going to push them higher and thus provide fuel for extreme weather.
We will get it here but there could be some awful storms in the hurricane and typhoon corridors.
The modelling itself is very interesting, especially around surface temperature feedback loops and tweaking probabilities accordingly but my interest is of little concern to those whom will be affected.
