I saw that someone had already used "Perfect Day"... First home game since Plymouth, tho I had been in attendance at Oxford and MKD. Some up this morning without any pre-match tension, most unusual, no matter how mediocre we've been have always had pmt. Noted on way up that A12 South shut. Hmm home via A120/M11 or A130/A13? Told my travelling companion that I wanted us to hit 5 or 6 to punish Charlton for the temerity of coming back from trailing by 2 goals twice back in October.I Picked up Pendejo Senior (Charlton fan by "birth" Ipswich due to 50+ years residency) and oldest male offspring and headed into town, parked in cattle market car park. Nestled between a former place of work and my favourite football stadium. Off to the bar on civic drive for some light refreshment, where oldest offspring joined us. On way from bar to ground decided that whilst it was sunny and warm now it would get colder so grabbed my fleece and into the Cobbold Stand. It didn't get cold and the body heat of a packed stand saw a few people divest some layers. The game? Magnificent wasn't it? I think it's the first time I've seen us score 6 in the league since 30/10/82!!! I know we have done so on numerous occasions since, it's just I wasn't there to see them. My dad has seen 2 games in 2 years aggregate score Ipswich 10 Charlton 0. So happy that Chaplin finally got a hat trick, but then he's a Championship standard player really. Wanted Ladapo to also hit a hat trick, but hey a brace is good.. After a glorious afternoon in fabulous sunshine, with not a cloud casting its shadow I was surprised that the A12 in Essex was wet, not only that, cotton wool like mist sat in the fields, it was beautiful, the whole day was beautiful.I Edit: Oh and that sunset! As I was driving out of Pinewood toward A12 the was a group of people taking photographs of it. Beautiful. It was a perfect day, and I'm so glad I spent it with you. [Post edited 16 Apr 2023 5:44]
