Early days but already feels like there is significantly less interest than there was in Toney.
Could it be a consequence of the other big news of the day dwarfing the story, the fact that Toney is a higher profile player, or because the media treats black players differently. Perhaps all three. |  |

Historical offences are usually less interesting. And he’s a much much lower profile player than Toney. Not sure skin colour has much to do with it |  |

I mean aren't most of Toney's offences from 2017? I can't really recall though. You're probably right, I think the first two factors I mentioned are far more important here. Nonetheless, black players absolutely do face more scrutiny for the same offences when compared to white players. | |

Raheem Sterling certainly got treated disgustingly by The Sun a few years back. And Marcus Rashford got plenty of digs for wanting to feed hungry kids.
