The managers is expecting a bruising season ahead of us 11:51 - Jul 23 with 2125 viewsRIPbobby

Looking at the teams we have been pitched against in pre-season I don't think k-mc is expecting teams to offer too much quality in the championship and is expecting teams to be big, strong and robust. It will be interesting to see how we will fair in the battles this season. Hopefully in most games we will get at least 20 minutes of being able to play it about before it turns into a battle.

Of course you may be correct. Why would you think he selected those fixtures? One thing I have learnt about him is that preparation is huge and that everything is done for a reason. Time will tell.

It’ll be a mixture, just as it always has been.

Luton were promoted. I didn’t see too much quality from them. I did see commitment, organisation, heart, brutality and playing to their strengths. They didn’t outplay Sunderland. They out muscled them. Nothing wrong in that. There’s no one way to play.

Millwall didn’t offer much quality either but knew what they were about ant should have made the play offs.

QPR, Rotherham and plenty of others were plain awful. On the flip side, Burnley obviously, Coventry, Middlesbrough and Sunderland all impressed me with their quality.

Totally agree , he picked Preston away and we all thought that’s a long old chug for pre season against a team we will play in the league , why not a team closer ie Millwall QPR or the like ….. no he wanted to create that long travel as a group in prep , the guy thinks out of the box all the time , and I for one trusts his judgement completely ……. A nice £100 bet to finish in the top 6 …….COYBs

I think yesterday's fixtures were based almost entirely on who they could get two games lined up against that were close together and close to Ipswich rather than any consideration of how they set up tactically or physically.

Poll: How many points do you think you'll need to get a ticket for Norwich?

Can see the logic in the OP, especially with Luton next up after the weekends oppo'.
Few tests on how robust we are won't hurt, going forward. We already know we can do the pretty stuff when allowed to.
