It's a weird feeling to be an aspirational Club again. 13:51 - Aug 24 with 761 viewsChampionsofInnsbruck

After years of being told we were competitive by Evans, and seeing us drop down the list of clubs spending fees on players, and the Championship wage table, to League One when after one season the belt was tightened and we were told we could do no more because of finances, FFP restrictions and so on.. After the sale, still in League One, we were already recruiting players from Premiership academies and systems in Walton, Clarke, Broadhead, Hirst and now we're signing a plyer who's played something like 50 games in the top flight, from Manchester United. I never thought we'd see that day again! It seems the days of barrel scraping for Leon Best and Keenan Bennetts are long behind us!

It really does increase my belief that we could be on our way back to the top flight, with owners that aren't just doing the bare minimum but have aspirations to go even further!

Yes, but why aren't we keeping the all conquering Greg Leigh for?!?!?!?!

Poll: We’ve got super KM, he knows exactly what we need. Woolfie at the back…

Ahhh, but don’t you miss the days of when Ebanks-Blake and ‘Duke’ had to have a couple of pairs of shorts welded together so he could waddle out on the pitch? Bullard wasn’t any better after he’d trousered his contract.

As for Leon Best it wasn’t so much barrel scraping as rolling it aside and rootling around the green gunge underneath.

Depressing days, hopefully long behind us. On our way back? I’ve a sneaky feeling you may be right.

I am just in a state of shock. I never thought we'd see these days again, I thought we'd end up with the Swindon's, Bradford and Oldham's!
