Our first 2 were absolute quality. Wonderful day.

I think the quality re goal 2 was Freddie's side/back shot was incredibly clever. I'm sure the defender & GK expected him to play it back to Leif as he was facing that direction. The the side/back completely caught them out.

The way Ladapo slotted it home, from that position, was brilliant.

I'd agree before watching the highlights. Quality finish.

The third was genuine lollers pinball, and instant karma re Cardiff's second.

Work hard get the ball forward and into dangerous areas and you deserve any luck that's going ! Or You make your own luck . Both very true .

Back to goal is one of Freddie’s strengths. He sticks that big old rear end out, has good control and quick feet. The turn and shoot special at Peterborough was a spectacular example of what he can do. Defenders nightmare.

Ladapo is not a Hirst style 9. He’s not a Lineker or Thierry Henri either. But he knows where the goal is and gets in those positions and has movement in the 6 yard box that real spoil a defenders day. He’s an asset to us and clearly a popular character too.

Was the winning goal a bit fortuitous? Slapping him in the face yes, being in the right place no.

Do you think Ladapo benefited from coming on earlier than usual and getting a full hour of game time ? Did it help his composure and put less pressure on him rather than the expectation of spending twenty minutes hammering in on goal at the end of a game ?

It's the instinct of a natural goalscorer, making sure you're in the correct area to pick up any scraps

Yes, I think so. In general play he tends to look like he’s running in treacle and he certainly doesn’t have the mobility of say a Hirst. But he tries and is a handful in that penalty area. Having more game time felt like the other players got used to where he was going to be.

Hutchinson’s ball in for the equaliser was perfect for a player like Ladapo and hideous for defenders at that level. He left his marker for dead, crashed it across and who was fastest to react? Ourrrrrr Freddie! Their celebration showed they both enjoyed that.
