How impressive is McKenna in that environment? It says a lot when 'the football guy' is as articulate and comfortable speaking as the suits around him. Can you imagine Lambert sat there barely stringing a sentence together? He also seems more confident in his own skin, a few jokes referencing Tom Ball being Dom Ball's uncle, tips on how to beat Southampton and the size of his contract etc. He just looks so at home here now and comfortable in his surroundings, which is lovely to see. Not that we needed any more evidence but what an impressive young manager he is, he's destined for great things.
Props to the compare too, who looks about 12 but kept it flowing nicely and pulled out some relevant social media questions at appropriate times.
Cringing somewhat at the final question, which was perfectly valid if that's an issue to the gentleman, but I'm not a fan of how it was delivered. Shame to end with that really.

I've always thought the difference between the best coaches and the rest is emotional intelligence (certainly in the modern game where scaring players no longer brings results). I may be wrong though - it might just be intelligence full stop. Whatever it is, KM has it in spades. |  |
