Yes, absolutely. Not so much with Town. I wouldn't say 'proud' is the emotion. I dunno what is, but my children? Yeah, cos I had a part to play in that. But even so, why do you feel that you can be proud of something you're affiliated with or 'belong' to, but you can't feel the opposite emotion? That seems odd to me. |

On the first point, they don't care about whether it happens or not. Just like Trump and MAGA didn't. If it gets you elected, then job done. |

The problem with that catchphrase/approach is that they're coming from so far behind. The right-leaning parties have spent decades shilling for their oil backers and convincing the more gullible amongst us that green is bad. It's wild to see it, but it's such an entrenched belief among some people. I recently got a hybrid car so I get served articles in the algorithm, and the number of people I see commenting on them is insane - they seem to be actually offended and upset at the idea of people buying electric cars. Same goes with green energy. Actual anger at the prospect of renewable energy! I don't think it's as simple as saying 'a green future will save you money' because so many people will just dismiss it out of hand. It needs a prolonged period of education, which means lots of appearances on TV etc... they'll never get that in the same quantity as their opponents from Reform. |

Fine, but by contrast, what have people got to be 'proud' of, if it wasn't them who did it? I'm proud of some stuff I've done in my life (and ashamed of plenty more...!), but why should I be 'proud' of anything my country has done? |

Amazing isn't it? AR swerved £40k on taxes and resigned. Boris had a hand in millions dying while he partied and gave millions of pounds of our money to his mates... he didn't resign. Zahawi 'accidentally underpaid' his tax by £5 million and didn't resign (admittedly was sacked after a lot of public pressure...) Rob Roberts made repeated unwanted sexual advances to his staff. Was suspended for a bit then welcomed back. Dominic Cummings tested his eyes by driving during lockdown. Backed by his PM. Boris took bungs to 'decorate his flat'. No problem. Hancock chirpsed his own staff during lockdown. Boris took more bungs to pay for a holiday in Mustique Owen Paterson lobbied on behalf of companies he was paid by on the side. Griffiths found guilty of rape, Elphicke of sexual assault. Both replaced by their own wives. The man appointed to look into the lockdown parties was found to have been AT the parties. Warburton accused of cocaine use and sexual harassment. Parish caught watching porn in the House of Commons. Another MP accused of rape. Pincher accused of groping staff. But THEY'RE ALL JUST AS BAD AS EACH OTHER. |

If you said on here that X deserves a punch in the face once, in the heat of the moment, then no. If you waged an ongoing war against X, managed to rally a whole group of people to your cause (many of whom have shown themselves more than capable in the past of delivering a punch to the face, or worse) and THEN suggested it, then it'd be a different matter. If you did ALL of that, had a huge audience AND wanted to punch X in the face because he's black/gay/trans/disabled... then yeah, you should expect a visit from the police, if only for a friendly word in the first instance (this isn't the first instance, either...) |

I hope so. Not because I don't like him, but I'd like to think EVERY player is in danger of being dropped if they don't deliver. That's the only way we'll go back up. |

Even this whole 'ARMED POLICE' nonsense is a great example of how they twist this narrative. He was arrested at an airport. A huge proportion of those police (maybe all? I'm not sure) are armed. It's just the way it is. I flew back to City Airport last week and there were only three police officers there, but all were armed to the teeth with machine guns. If I'd walked into WH Smith and pinched a Mars Bar, I would also have been arrested by ARMED POLICE. It's not a huge overreaction, it's just some officers carrying out an arrest warrant. Whether you think people should be arrested for being awful horrible c**ts or not is another debate, but the emphasis on them being armed is the same as the emphasis on 'Fighting Age Men' that we keep seeing about immigrants. It's them manipulating the conversation exactly as they want. |

You mean specifically saying 'go out and do it,' or spending years cultivating hatred among a certain section of dimwitted people that a little dog-whistle here and there is enough to set them off? |

This opportunity didn't take 22 years to build. It took about three. Maybe four or so if you count Demolition Man in there for the foundations. Before that, it was a decaying old shell of a property with rising damp and a collapsing roof. Then a new architect came in, built a luxury home out of nothing and we're talking about sacking him because he got the job done three years ahead of schedule but some of the fixtures might need replacing. |

Similarly, their comeback to all of the 'woke, leftie libtards' who argue that maybe we shouldn't be massive sh*ts to foreigners, is: "How many are YOU putting up in your house?" Yet, how many homeless vets, single-parent families or disadvantaged white kids are THEY putting up in theirs? That's who they claim to support and just want these immigrants gone so we have space for them, but.... |

It's funny how the same maths wasn't applied last season. When we were 10 games into the Premier League and still without a win, why weren't these people saying "everything's good - we've only lost 11 out of the last 56 games"....? |

I was friends with an Ipswich player years ago (probably shouldn't say who as it's not fair on him), but I remember asking him if there were any players he absolutely hated. "Yeah, only one. [xxx] was a prick and I nearly had a fight with him on the pitch." Not much longer after that, we sold him for a decent amount of money to another pretty big club and within months of him arriving, that player became their manager. He never really got much of a look in there and end up being farmed out on loan before leaving and ended up going down the leagues for a bit. I think we always forget how that kind of politics can really damage - if not completely ruin - a career. |

Didn't Ashton and co make a point of getting the same 50 grass/50 5G mixture as the PR pitch? Seem to remember him talking about how important it was that we trained on the same surface. |

I really don't understand why this is surprising people. If you fancied a new car and someone said, 'have it for a year and see if you like it. You'll only pay for it and keep it if you get that promotion and a pay rise at the end of the year, otherwise you can give it back,' you'd be laughing at how great a deal you'd got. |

Weirdly enough mine was West Ham v Barnsley. Pretty sure it was an FA Cup match and they went in 2-0 down and ended up winning 3-2. The Julian Dicks/Ian Bishop era. Was a pretty good game considering I wasn't converted into a Hammer afterwards! |
