Preston were the most engimatic team we have played so far 09:31 - Oct 8 with 822 views | GeoffSentence | They looked like they could be threatening, but hardly ever threatened us. They looked solid, organised and difficult to break down, but let in four goals. They weren't niggly or constantly fouling, but when they, did they went for it big time with some obvious and cynical challenges. Anyway, they'll be mid-tablish by the end of the season I reckon.

Preston were the most engimatic team we have played so far on 10:12 - Oct 8 with 670 views | BlueBoots | Preston seemed happy to sit deep, hope to win the ball back and punt it up to physical frontmen to try to create chances or win set pieces from there. Other than the first goal where the whole defence seemed caught in 2 minds whether to push up and attack the ball, or drop off and defend the box, coped with it pretty well all match. Thought they gave us more headaches from set pieces than other teams this season; clearly something we worried about, as we managed to play out a whole match without conceding a corner! For those of a certain age who remember 1970's Lions rugby, looked like as well as the 3 subs at half-time, the "99 call" went out. Lots of niggly stuff going on off the ball (a lot targeted at Morsy, looking to get a reaction), and wouldn't be surprised if Lowe accused them of being a soft touch at half time, despite being a physical side. Definitely put that right in the second half, and really needed our subs to help with that after the demanding run of games. There will be Championship sides that cave in to that Preston tactic, but after a season in League One we have a squad that have faced that before and learned to stand up to the challenge. Knew before the game we had to limit Preston's chances if we wanted to stop them scoring, as they've been the most clinical in the division; may not create as many chances as other teams, but when they do get a shot they get it on target 75% of the time, and 1 in 5 of those shots on target end up as goals. Did even better than that yesterday...8 shots, 2 on target, and 2 goals (and quite a few of those shots were desperate wayward ones from outside the box towards the end of the game) Was always going to be tough ask to keep a clean sheet, particularly with the open, attacking way we play at home.
