How the table could look come 12/11 15:44 - Nov 8 with 1668 viewsSamWhiteUK

This is the first one of these I've done that show us able to move anywhere. At the other end of the table, Wednesday could move off the bottom and they don't even require a large GD swing.

They-who-shall-not-be-named could find themselves one place outside the bottom three.

Yet again, this chart shows just how tight the middle of the pack is

Can I check what the colour coding is?

orange = can reach this high on goal diff
green = can reach this high on points
blue = can reach this low on points
yellow = can reach this low on goal difference

Is that right?

What is the significance of the red cross?

I really need to add a key to it...

Green/blue = easy moves; can get here on points with a GD swing of < 4

Orange/yellow = harder moves; can get here with a three point swing AND GD swing >= 4

The red X are impossible positions - these are positions that would satisfy the other criteria, but for other fixtures preventing them from happening. For example, Leeds can't fall to sixth because two of the teams between them and 6th (Southampton and West Brom) are playing each other. Likewise, Cardiff can't reach fourth because of the same fixture.

Hope that helps

Ah, I see, more intricate than I assumed. Cool, thanks for the explanation.

btw. Cardiff are playing Norwich so surely they could go top, morally at least, for a week!

With a game tonight, bumping for visibility. Not sure of the optimal time to post

It's ridiculously compressed outside the automatic promotion/relegation positions. Anyone from 3rd to 21st can move from between 5 and 11 places. Not many 5 and 6 places possibles in that either; most could move between 7 and 11 places.

Poll: Do you think Pert is key to all of this?
