Update on our Ukrainian guests 13:36 - Nov 30 with 713 viewsbluelagos

I say our, because lots of good people on here contributed to a fund raiser last year to get them Season tickets as well as donating to a wider crimbo appeal for medical equipment for the Ukrainian war effort.

Myktya started at Essex Uni a few weeks back, he has got on a computing degree and is settled in well. Got digs at the Uni and told me he has a Naaridge fan in his Uni digs who he ribs "Cos they are sh1t" :-)

And today I dropped off Vika to her new place in Colchester. She has got a flat through a housing association - with a spare room so Mykyta can visit too (holidays) as/when he likes.

They've been busy decorating it / putting down carpets. Pleasantly surprised by Suffolk council who supported them with a grant (not all councils do) which made furnishing it possible - not sure how she'd have managed without that.

So they've moved on, we defo have a dedicated Towen fan (Mykyta is coming to the Norwich match in his Towen shirt no doubt) - feel a bit like a parent does waving their kids off - and it's only been 15 months.

Cheers all - and thanks for those who helped them feel so welcome - including those in block J and JJ who last season were nothing but polite and helpful with whoever was sitting around them this week :-)

Edit: Should add that Babergh / Suffolk council are always asking if anyone knows of anyone who could host. If anyone can am happy to give any insights or point you in their direction.

Some hosts have reached a point where they wish to get their homes back - and it's really hard for Ukrainians to get digs (Reluctant landlords) so there are UK based Ukrainians who need housing in Suffolk now.

Good on you for putting them up and giving them a leg up in life at what I'm sure was such a difficult time for them.

I hope they go on to have very happy and fulfilled lives.
