RIP Duane Eddy on 09:06 - May 2 with 457 views | WeWereZombies | Just managed to miss Martin Simpson's eulogy on 'Today' just now, so was about to post the same track. I recall John Peel saying that seeing Duane Eddy playing live in Liverpool was life changing for him, that moment on the recording at 01:18 when the sax stops and the guitar moves centre stage for eighteen seconds was a spine tingling experience.

The late, great John Entwistle always cited him as major influence on his bass playing too, particulary the distinctive "twang".

Blimey. That one went under the radar. One of my favourite bands, Ultravox. More into the John Foxx era when they had the exclamation mark ala Neu! than the Midge stuff, though that was good in it's own right.
