It was in the end. A good news story. It is lovely to see Maidstone using the money to benefit the club/its supporters in addition to the brilliant memories they created for themselves.

For us? Humiliating on the day. Irritated the heck out of me for days. But yes, beneficial. When you see how Coventry got overwhelmed at the end of the season with fixtures, not having that problem made huge difference. Mick Mills said that the two week break Coventry’s cup run gave us benefitted us mentally more than physically. It enabled a sort of mental reset (paraphrase). I think he was right.
