Over the past year at least, the EADT seems to be later and later to transfer rumours. They rarely break a story, but instead relay the same information multiple news sources have beaten them to.
I don't know whether one of their former journalists being part of the club media is a factor? Maybe they don't want to upset the club due to recent interviews they've had. As before they seemed pretty on it with transfers.

Has anyone else noticed a lack of transfer breaks coming out of EADT recently? on 14:29 - Jul 5 with 993 views
Think the step up into the Championship and now Prem means that there are more national level journos with an interest in publishing stories about players we are interested in and clubs/agents have their own go to journos to get a story out there.

Phil mentioned this yesterday. More interest, larger established media outlets are getting the information earlier than the local journalists. People like Fabrizio would have a wealth of established links with people in all the bigger clubs. Unless the club itself approaches local press or links within the club leak prior it seems local journalists are now picking up the crumbs from national press on the bigger news.
Of course Phil could blow this out of the water with a “Philogene chooses Town” exclusive imminently but we will see.
