Observations from today 17:00 - Aug 17 with 1345 viewsZx1988

Premier League style offsides are going to get very old very quickly.

Delap/Greaves are going to prove themselves to be top signings.

There's zero time or margin for error against the top sides. The number of times a slight poor touch led to an immediate turnover of possession was scary.

We were good enough in the first half to force Slot into a h/t re-jig in order for Liverpool to get the upper hand.

Our full backs are going to have to play very different games against the top sides. Turnovers high up the pitch are going to be lethal against world-class wingers.

We gave one hell of a showing against one of the best teams in the world. It's easy to forget that we won't have to play against that sort of quality every week.

The knock-off shirts are awful; can't even get the colours on the away shirt right.

Are they the semi automated offsides that were used during the euros?

No - last I heard they're not coming in until October at the earliest.

No - just the whole 'if you think it's offside, wait for the attack to end and *then* flag' way of dealing with it.

First offside we had was flagged straight away, followed by Delap wiped out in the box. Odd one that.

Not seen it, but thought play had to continue rather than being stopped.

Cheers, there was a spate of quite a few offsides for us in the second half that I didn't see the linesman flag for.
