Perspective 10:14 - Aug 25 with 1411 views | DJR | There is a case for saying at all the goals we conceded were self-inflicted, if you say that Muric shouldn't have overcommitted himself for the third, and should (from where I was sat) have been able to save fourth. That being the case, Man City didn't create a barrel-load of other chances, the other chances they had mainly being in a crazy spell just after we fell to pieces, and when I feared we could go on to lose 10-1. Of course, you could say that City took their foot off the ball but I thought we performed/defended admirably for much of the rest of the game. [Post edited 25 Aug 2024 10:15]

I didn't think it was a penalty either from where I was sat but haven't seen a replay.

It was 100% a penalty - then again, we should've been given one too

If that's the case, I suppose the additional question is whether Davis needed to make the challenge. My friend and I were not convinced he needed to. [Post edited 25 Aug 2024 11:48]

I’ve only seen the tv footage but at first sight it looked a penalty tbh and the replay did nothing to change that. I don’t think it was a challenge he needed to make, but that’s easy to say from the old arm chair. The one the other end? Obviously a penalty, but we know how it goes with the big clubs. You won’t get diddly squat out of a ref against them. It’s more than the ref’s job is worth. Literally.

He didn't the ball would have run out or at best for city the player retrieves the situation gets a cheap corner or comes back out with a pass
