With no offence to Al-Hamidi, he's hardly going to strike fear in any defender's hearts. Haven't go much in way of a solution though, unless we bring back Greaves in defence and try to 'reverse Naylor' Burgess. Goodness what we'll do at right back if Johnson isn't fit. Clarke struggles defensively and O'Shea hinders the attack from that position.

I didn’t particularly rate Clarke in the championship to be perfectly honest and I sure as hell don’t at this level. He’s way, way off it. As for #9 I think it’s going to fall to AAH and flogging Delap as hard as possible. I don’t see a world where we’re playing players spectacularly out of position. Broadhead might be an option, he’s technically very good although stylistically he’s nothing like the profile we need in that role. Thought he showed some nice touches in his cameo today.

The issue is that position needs physicality, and I think Broadhead lacks that to the level required. Even Delap looked slightly 'weak' today, for want of better word, particularly in the second half, and he's well built and has bullied other defenders. Hirst is so key to take the pressure off him, and change the approach of the game. The lack of a third option is going to hurt us badly until whenever we bring someone in in the new year.

In the end, he kept drifting deep and wide, almost trying to set himself up for a wonder goal - which he’s quite capable of, but when the opportunities present themselves.
