Negatives:

1. Too many easy turnovers - Lots of unforced errors.
2. Wanted too many touches in attacking positions.
3. Muric felt ill at ease the whole game, confidence seems shot, time for a break.
4. Szmodics really didn't cause the Newcastle defence and issues.

Positives:
1. Performance of Phillips, AAH and Broadhead, the latter had done his hopes of a start no harm.
2. The crowd were great, especially in the first half.

Disappointments:
1. McKenna didn't take the opportunity to try something different with the substitutions when 0-4 down. Would have liked to see Morsy, Cajuste and Phillips play for 10-15 minutes.

2 points out of the next two would be great, but what is more important is getting people in early in January, especially with the time it takes to get them up to speed.

Have a great Christmas Everyone!! Keep the faith.

There was obviously multiple negatives. However, it's hard to look very far past the standout one of Liam Delap (ole ole) not being on the pitch. He might not have prevented defeat, but I'm fairly sure we don't lose that 4-0.

Agree that earlier changes, either personnel or tactical, wouldn't have hurt. It was clear within 5 minutes Szmodics wasn't going to cause them any issues and whatever plan we'd hatched to counteract the obvious mismatch in physicality between him and their defence wasn't working. I felt Hutchinson was going to be important in that central position for Muric to look to with the dinked pass but that wasn't happening either.

No disgrace second half and there was a good atmosphere at the end, oddly better than it would have been if we'd lost 2-0 - work that out. The last thing I want is to see is PR turning on this team.
