Nice surprise - My sister bought me the George Burley book. I’ve only flicked through it, but even on that I’d highly recommend it.
For me it triggers so many good memories. There is a shot of the crowd on the pitch after the Bolton game. I’m in there somewhere but fortunately for the world not in the pic. What a moment.
It also triggers memories of the play off final. My parents stayed with us. Mrs C took my mum to Bluewater, then watched on tv. My my dad and I went to London early. Brekkie, Beer, McDonalds, beer, game, beer, station beer. We got home. God knows when. A magnificent spread done by Mrs C and my mum. Wine, beer, a replay of pre-match, match, post-match into the night. What an evening.
My parents are gone now, but nobody can ever take that day away.
