When did you first feel like we would get relegated? 00:16 - Apr 27 with 542 views | Miaow | Everton (H) back in October for me. Two dreadful goals conceded and a limp display. If we'd got one back when we were 0–2 down I think we would have potentially got a result as Everton were awful themselves and they would have been rattled. But we didn't. That was a depressing day. That came after those two expected defeats at the start of the season and then four straight draws, and then the defeat at West Ham. We then threw away points whilst simultaneously being shafted by the officials at Brentford and at home to Leicester. Those games gave some form of hope whilst also being demoralising but then we won at Spurs and should have beaten Man U. Things were feeling a bit more positive after those two games, and we got that last-gasp win at Wolves and beat Chelsea to end the year, but those results were in amongst more defeats, including the capitulation against Bournemouth. Who knows how things would have ended up if Jack Clarke's late shot at Fulham hadn't hit the post, but I doubt it would have ultimately changed the outcome of our season. But it was so nearly back-to-back wins. It's the hope that kills you, and the few positive moments and results have kept us hanging in there, but defeats like the one to Southampton were dreadful and ultimately showed that we weren't going to stay up. That was a day that only pointed to relegation. Going into the season as favourites to finish in the bottom three was no surprise given where we had come from but I honestly did think we would do a bit better than we have. But I'm positive about the 2025–26 campaign, as I think most on here are. I will be glad to see the back of this season — I'm just hoping we can have a result on the final day to sign off with, akin to Leeds in 2019. Edit: Just seen the earlier thread that asks basically the same thing... [Post edited 27 Apr 1:04]

However, this was another game where terrible officiating robbed us and if we'd have been given the blatant penalty it could have been a different game. | | | |
