One of the best players to play at PR this season imo. Phenomenal player. We played the 4th worst team in the league today and as individuals they are so many levels above the teams we've played against in the championship. I just can't see how any of the promoted teams can stay up these days. |

Continuously falling over his own feet, stumbling or throwing himself in to last ditch tackles because he's out of position. Not a great trait for a centre back imo. I was really impressed by his first few games for us, not sure what's happened but let's hope there's a player there. [Post edited 3 Mar 21:06]

 | Forum Thread | I find it incredibly harsh that people are criticising the team after yesterday. at 11:14 23 Feb 2025
Unfortunately our right back had a shocker. But we've gone toe to toe with Spurs and although we've been beaten 4-1, we could have conceivably won the game if we were more effective at crucial points in the game. 90% of the game we are well in it. It's just the story of our season, I think we've almost been good enough. The difference is the better teams maximise the chances they get and are so clinical. As much as I don't enjoy everything that comes with the Premier League, I've quite enjoyed a lot of our performances. The level of this league is ridiculous and for us to compete as well as we have, I think, is impressive. Unfortunately, it looks like it will be a case of nearly. If we'd have signed Palmer in August and / or had competent officials, the noise around our club would be a lot more positive. I can understand criticism after Southampton and things may not look so bleak if we'd have taken the 6 points off them that we should have done. But ultimately, I think we all need to stay with the group and show understanding of the levels we're up against and the level we're playing at ourselves. Not too long ago we watched our team put up a pathetic performance in the Championship, getting relegated with no style of play, no passion and very little quality in the team. We are a million miles away from that this season. [Post edited 23 Feb 11:17]

 | Forum Thread | I'm sure I'm reiterating the same point many have made at 13:03 2 Feb 2025
But our recruitment this season has overall been very poor. I've got Delap, Szmodics and O'Shea in the good category where they have made an improvement on what we had last year. Might be slightly harsh on Jens who looks to have ability but he struggles to stamp his authority on the game and be anything other than neat and tidy imo. Townsend also looks to have brought added depth and his signing makes sense. Mentality is a huge part of football and we have had an incredible group for the past 2 years. We've ripped that up too much imo and the players with that mentality have been left on the sidelines. But now we've done what we have, the fact that we're not expecting to make signings in the next 24 hours pretty much seals our fate imo. We need a striker, a RW, a CM and a keeper. Top priorities are the striker and a keeper and it looks extremely unlikely on either front. What a horrible decision we made with Hladky! We all know what happens on Saturday when Hirst breaks down against Coventry and we're left with 1 senior striker. |
 | Forum Thread | Do we know if Slicker is any good? at 22:54 1 Feb 2025
I've only seen him a very limited amount and I'm not sure if I've seen him have to make any saves. Genuinely feels like if we don't see a keeper come through the door in the next 48 hours, we're done. Neither senior keeper looks up to it imo and the headlines speak for themselves 'Muric costs Ipswich again'. Crazy to think if we had a half decent keeper we could realistically be sat on at least the same points as Spurs. [Post edited 1 Feb 22:54]

 | Forum Thread | We are going to go down with a whimper at 15:52 25 Jan 2025
If we don't revert to playing bravely, playing further up the pitch and pressing properly. We are attempting to be compact with absolutely no out ball, effective press or threat the other side. Playing defence vs attack for 90 minutes is only going to end one way. We're not Everton, these players are not able to do this. Yes, it's difficult against City and Liverpool but these performances have regressed significantly from the 2 first games of the season. |
 | Forum Thread | No criticism of individuals based on yesterday's game at 08:48 20 Jan 2025
But the last 2 games our pressing has been really poor. The front 3 go, do their job well and then they're not backed up by the central midfield, effectively leaving us hugely exposed, as there's an easy ball out and they're suddenly able to get at us with less players to play through. Our press was absolutely fundamental to our success in the last 2 years and it's crucial we continue to be brave and press as a team. Otherwise there is no point bothering in the first place. |
 | Forum Thread | I'm still yet to be convinced we've improved on Burgess at 22:51 16 Jan 2025
O'Shea, I think to be fair, has been absolutely outstanding, but other than that, big Cam looks by far the next best defender at the club. He also links with Davis better than anyone else and is surprisingly good on the ball. |
 | Forum Thread | Unfortunately, Wolves look really decent at 20:31 6 Jan 2025
Fortunately I've just checked their next run of fixtures, hopefully they don't get much from them and it batters their confidence! |

Is he only contacted until the end of the season? We could do with getting him tied up for longer if so! |
 | Forum Thread | Hmmm... few reasons to be concerned.... a few positive aspects too at 21:59 28 Aug 2024
Some people will no doubt embarrass themselves tonight with a complete overreaction. None of those players have played together and that was obvious, the possession was good without playing the ball forwards at pace in to the areas to cause danger. Phillips was alright, Townsend was decent. Unfortunately Chaplin and Burgess stand out as being poor performances, not sure if the latter's confidence has been knocked. Other than that Johnson was poor again. All the others looked ok. It's disappointing because this will maybe dent their confidence a little bit when it might have given us a boost with a comfortable win. Also miss the chance to get more games in to the new players. Certainly not anything to panic about at the minute. [Post edited 28 Aug 2024 21:59]

Bullet dodged! His stats are actually worse than I thought they would be and he offers nothing in the build up. £30m is terrible business. |
