So it seems the club are using the work of photorealist painter Louise Cobbold for all the programmes this season.

Seems like a missed opportunity to me. Personally, while obviously executed very well I can't think of a more boring medium than photorealism - just use a photo...
But, it seems stupid as the work that Call Me Ted did last year on covers, until the club cancelled the arrangement, was so great - intelligent, unexpected, full of wit and celebrating a bunch of local creatives.
Seems like they've sacked Ted off, copied the idea, and made it bland. [Post edited 17 Aug 10:47]

Potentially lends credence to one of the excuses trotted out, that the players didn't like not being on the cover.
I struggle to believe that the players are quite that hung up with being on the programme cover though. |  |
