Oh, I couldn't hate the banter any more. Every time a player now gets a record, or makes a mistake, or anything happens, it had to be turned into what one of those did thirty years ago and then tired and boring jokes between them.
This doesn't really happen in any other discipline and it's kind of weird. |

I note that increasingly the BBC have on, instead of an ex footballer, an expert. I think Nikki i saw Nikki Bandini involved with the Champions League highlights and she added very insightful knowledge based on deep work and writing around the teams and individuals playing, not just memories and banter that ex pros usually offer. |

Hah. i have been in and seen crowds of 100,000 and 2,000,000 and in between. No way was there 500,000 on that march.
But, beyond the numbers, i care more about the out and out fascism, right wing garbage, and hate that it is normalising. |

I think most players would do that for image rights, which form part of most contracts now, even if they are a youngster and there aren't many rights to talk of.
I gather than image rights get paid there and can be offered as longer term security by paying the player out for many years after playing as an annual stipend, after monthly paycheques stop coming. |

ah, not quite. It was a project i was going to propose to them. I noticed that on Twitter they then started following me, and they didn't follow many, so I messaged to say hello and ask why. They were nice, we chatted. but for external reasons the project I was thinking around couldn't happen so I never followed up with the email he had given me.
I do a lot of things with a lot of people, some quite known, others not, and that one just didn't start. :) |

I did just drop a message to one of the band who gave me their email a few months ago for a potential project. For various reasons it didn't happen, and I never emailed, but I felt that was a good day to try it... Idoubt he'll reply, I suspect he got a few today! [Post edited 3 Sep 22:50]

People also complained that we didn't have enough "home-grown" youngsters coming through. We still don't have many, but I'd argue that having two in the squad is good. |
