 | News Comment | Chelsea Strong Favourites to Sign Delap at 13:36:39
Ultimately, it doesn't matter to us as a team. But, personally I would have thought Everton or Newcastle a far, far better fit, to have a team built around him and grow as a player with really loyal, supportive fans in huge stadiums. Chelsea may be all bling, but we have seen how they cast off players on a whim, and how fickle fans turn against them even quicker. |

I spend longer properly checking everything when I'm buying a toaster, let alone if I was spending £22m - so I'm not surprised these things take a while. |
 | News Comment | O'Neil: That Group Was Close to Its Maximum Today at 01:47:11
"The first goal is unacceptable for Premier League level. We saw Liam Delap score that goal a lot when he was playing kids two foot smaller than him, he looked like he was playing two years up bashing people out the way and running through. It’s not acceptable to concede that goal, Delap won’t score that against any other Premier League team." Delap didn't score a goal. What is he on about? |
 | News Comment | Philogene and Town 'In Advanced Talks' at 20:05:34
That repeated fact that Bobby Robson kept turning down Barcelona to stay at Ipswich seemed long in the history and cultural memory of this club, I never thought I'd see the day that we were even again on the same news item let alone that in any way we would be competing, even if just for a transfer and not for the trophies. |
 | News Comment | Morsy: Our Biggest Strength Has Been How We Bounce Back at 08:47:28
Read this interview, thought Morsy made some fair points and with eloquence. Look at the comments and see absolute garbage bonfire comments. It's incredible we are not fighting against relegation or swimming in mid table. We shouldn't be second, but it's mind-blowing that we are. And we may stay there. Enjoy the ride, because I remember the last fifteen years and this is not something we could have expected or hoped for. |
 | News Comment | McCarthy: I'd Love Us to Play Nicer, More Attractive Football at 11:07:53
This makes no sense. Even when we were higher up the table the football was pretty awful. And even a couple of years ago when we just missed out on playoffs, it was because of Murphy and not great team passing football. And, then, even when he made the decision "we will play awful football in an attempt to stay up" and game after game it didn't work he simply carried on without trying to change the approach. I have little time for this man. |
 | News Comment | Brentford: Douglas Deal Done at 13:28:33
hmm. has someone edited Wikipedia? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jonathan_Douglas "Jonathan Michael Douglas (born 22 November 1981) is an Irish football player who currently plays for by far the finest team, the world has ever seen, Ipswich. He is now retired centre midfielder and has also represented Republic of Ireland at international level." |

With no disrespect to the friends or family of this poor chap, i really don't understand why this has become a thing in football. If the deaths are related to a game, such as Bradford or Hillsborough, or a key figure from a club. Even if someone sadly died in a crash to or from a game. But in a support of 20,000 plus it is tragic and inevitable that many, many will die each year. Do we do this for every single person? At more than one game? |
 | News Comment | Smith Surprised By All Whites Omission at 09:32:51
Maybe the NZ manager has been watching Ipswich games and is making a judgement based on form, unlike our manager. Much as I love Smith's energy, dedication and being an honorary Ipswich guy, there were a few poor games in a row where his mistakes led to defeats. The position he plays in ATM hasn't been helping, and perhaps a week's rest will enable a recharge, but am I surprised he's been dropped from a national team? no. |

Odd. I am fairly cynical about town's chances in the chatroom and message board. I have been critical of our sh!t performances ever since the MIddlesborough game, but still when faced with the amateur-guessing game of results I ended up with Ipswich fourth. Which clearly won't happen, so I am an idiot. Still. Great if it did. Great incentive to beat the Saints. Another home tie against a beatable Prem team who will be concentrating on staying up. |
 | News Comment | Town and Co-op Hail Partnership at 16:08:39
Let's hope that as part of this the club also move their bank account to the Co-op - there's heaps of dirty money in football, so to have some of it in an ethical savings account wouldn't at all be a bad thing. I think it's a good thing, really. More sponsorship and not with a corporate unfriendly entity but a members owned business which has its heart in a good place. I can't say I care much for the writing in the seat layout, but all going well the team will be playing well enough to get high enough attendances so the heart can't be seen! |
