Excellent player but never in a month of Sundays would they sell him to us and even if it was to happen, no way would it get done in a week. Let's not forget his injury record which if not for that, he'd likely be elsewhere already.
Also, we need to sign players for what we are striving for, how they work in a system, how they compliment what we've got. That, arguably, is where we've blindsided ourselves in the last 12-13 months.
As good as Sargeant is, we would likely see it as weakening them before strengthening us making it more a flex signing. |  |

No chance in a million years are we are getting him but I don’t agree with your last two paragraphs. He’s a proper 9, with an amazing goal scoring record at this level when fit, so would be perfect for us and an upgrade on Hirst, with potential to play at the PL level.
In fact if it wasn’t for the rivalry, considering where they are as a club we absolutly should be all in for him. | |

I would like to think we are a long way down the road regards a striker and also have plan be in case it goes ti*s up.
