Nunez 11:10 - Sep 21 with 1306 views | textbackup | Why is he not coming on at 55/60 yesterday, when it was clear we needed something to help us a bit in that area?

Nunez on 12:04 - Sep 21 with 1094 views | WolfieAtTheBack | I think we touched on this the other day, there are so many players to fit in these roles, It might be a case of keeping them all happy with game time. Nunez and Matisawa (not sure if that the correct spelling) to start the majority then bring on Cajuste at 70 mins to add something different where needed, is Jens a 'luxury' kind of player, possibly but he is very much needed and part of the team.

On recent evidence Jens is a luxury. Better suited to a 3 I think, Akpom was doing some of his running for him yesterday which is good to see on his part, he’s class, but Cajuste needs to be much better at the unsexy stuff. He’s quite clearly got ability but I can’t see him holding down his place next to Matusiwa unless he offers much more off the ball. Nunez will get his chance before too long I think, and it’s up to him to take it. Same for 1 or 2 others, Kipre will presumably start against Pompey and a good performance from him might give Greaves a challenge getting back in. That’s healthy though.

It isn’t impossible that EFL decide the game resume in 80th minute. Should that happen expect a different game plan, and possibly three points.

I know he missed pre season but he doesn't look fit at all. When people spoke about his fitness concerns it's not about missing games through injury for me, it's the inability to get up and down the pitch.

I'd like to see Cajuste as a 10, less running! With Nunez and Azor the midfield 2. KM did mention Jens played 10 for Napoli which is good enough for me. Again, we have Akpom there too, lots of options. | | | | Login to get fewer ads
Nunez on 13:32 - Sep 21 with 558 views | backwaywhen | In my humble opinion, I’m not sure those conditions maybe influenced KM decision on Nunez especially if not quite fit …..leg sapping pitch yesterday that only got worse .

I’m not sure if it’s fitness or desire, it might well be the former and I sort of hope it is. On the face of it, and I don’t use the term lightly, he looked lazy yesterday. Akpom put a proper shift in and that was partly out of necessity, I think he realised he had to. A couple of silky turns in the middle is lovely, but out of possession Cajuste looked miles off it. Wouldn’t be at all surprised to see Nunez in from the start against Pompey.

Considering he has a knee problem that has to be managed it's not really surprising he can't be fully at it whilst he's on the pitch. I like cajuste. However when azor is being our dm cajuste imo isn't really that creative so it really does need to be nunez from the start really. I don't really know how best to utilise cajuste in our shape.

Nunez on 13:46 - Sep 21 with 452 views | BouncebackIpswich | Maybe KM didn't want to risk Nunez in the conditions given he's just coming back from an injury? Or maybe he expected it to be called off and didn't see the point in making the change. I don't see how a passing player would have influenced that game anyway, it was more of a job for Taylor

Agreed, something just doesn't seem quite right with Cajuste. He doesn't seem to be willing ( or able? ) to really put the hard yards in off the ball and doesn't ever look really 'up for it'. As you have alluded to, it may be injury / lack of match fitness rather than lack of desire, but either way we can't carry him indefinitely if we want to make real progress towards the top of the league.

Absolutely no way they’ll do that. Do we start with 10 men? What about the added time, of which there would have been at least 7 or 8 on Saturday. Zero chance they do that. It has to be a full game replay.
