No real stand out in this generation, but PSG were superb, and he was a big part of it.
Being French must help, particularly if his competition for the Ballon d’Or from PSG (given their achievements) is a Georgian (i.e. less ‘fashionable’, sadly). | |

I would have given it to Hakimi - he was the big difference maker I saw in several of their games to winning the CL. But he's a right back I don't think my opinion was an overly popular one!! |  |

If it has to be a PSG player, surely the one that they really leant on to get to the UCL final was Donnarumma - without him they could easily have been out in the earlier stages |  | | |

Cant help but feel the whole thing is a complete waste of time nowadays.
Its essentially an award for the best attacker in Champions League winning team because that is the only competition all journalists watch. Just one CB and one GK in the top 30, Van Dijk & Donnarumma.
There should be some kind of formula to it as opposed to random journalists voting for their favourite attacking players. | | | |
