Wholesale squad change on promotion/relegation doesn’t work 10:17 - Oct 22 with 566 viewsRyorry

At least not for us. Was same for Burley.

We achieved back to back promotions because we’d become a cohesive, well-oiled *team* who fought for each other and for us fans. They weren’t brought in because they were business units who might be useful if we got promoted/relegated in future or who we might be able to sell at a profit.

Learn from history ITFC ownership & management.

Poll: Faragegate - if his decision, should Ashton resign, be sacked or stay?

Signing lots of ill-suited players (to the manager's system) doesn't work that's for sure. I don't like to think there's something uniquely wrong about us that wholesale changes automatically spells failure, given it can and has worked for multiple other clubs. If we're that bound to our history then the lesson may equally be, instant promotion after relegation doesn't work, but I refuse to give up yet lol.

Get what you’re saying but the squad is what it is.

The current problem for me is the wholesale team changes on a game by game basis. I know there is the argument that it’s a squad game now but I’m old school, find your best eleven and stick with it as far as possible.

Currently I don’t think McKenna knows his best eleven, which is rather worrying!
