| What do you think is the end game with many of our squad 11:26 - Nov 5 with 447 views | FrimleyBlue | Just looking across different threads and talks of style, low block, possession football, etc etc Is this a squad primed for prem football, is it more of a player trading squad? I guess the question is how many of this squad could at a competitive level play premiership football. To me, we've got Egeli with future potential and maybe Azon who I think would do a solid job in the prem. But outside of those two, I couldn't really see it has the physicality Ashton was talking about when we were changing the direction of recruitment. Davis as an existing player, solid enough we know he is, but prem standard? im not 100% sure, Oshea, i like him, but even I don't think he's good enough for prem, kipre, same, greaves, struggling with champ standard. Mcateer, don't know enough about. Philogene, Clarke, Philogene I think offers more of a prem threat than clarke, but even then i think prem defences soak him up and stop him anyway and clarke looks lovely at times but can't help feel that he's a player that could have been a grealish had we not stopped his development ( Not a fault of ours, more that he and davis doesnt work) So yeah, I guess the question is, do you think this is a yo yo squad, or if we did finish in promotion places, we'd see a mass sale again like we did this summer [Post edited 5 Nov 2025 11:30]

They have been put together in order to win games of football - as a 'team' 'coached' by McKenna. It's a controversial view, I know, but it's mine.

I think it will be more foreign investment and some wily, vastly experienced players in their early 30's like what Sunderland have done by signing Xhaka (who is a really excellent player and leader). Yes, we signed Phillips last season, but it looks like he could only play under Biesla. Wolves about 5 seasons signed Moutinho for about 5 million and he was excellent in their midfield for a few years. Do you think we'll ever see Davis move up pitch like Bale did?
