Speaking of which, Junior Tchamadeu might have been an interesting watch tomorrow, especially if you are a betting person. He's on 9 bookings already this season, and it was thought that tomorrow would be his last game before he goes off to the AFCON. He doesn't generally have any problems picking up yellow cards, but there was a distinct possibility he would have come on as a sub with say ten minutes to get the one card he needs. I guess the simplest way is just to take your shirt off with a minute to go rather than actually kick someone, but maybe that's a bit too blatant. (I once saw James Milner trying to get a yellow card in an England U20 tournament. He was so embarrassed as his fouls got more blatant with each attempt to attract the ref's displeasure.) But as things stand, it looks like Tchamadeu will be playing for Stoke at the weekend too, so if he gets booked tomorrow it's probably just his normal indiscipline. | |
