I’m not sure if it’s been mentioned already, but the other side of this is the huge environmental cost. They’re conducting ecocide in addition to genocide (Isreal at least in Gaza, if not yet in Iran).

Expect more attacks on the Fed once inflation starts hitting US consumers. Virtually every analyst predicted Iran would shut down shipping if Iran were attacked (as Iran and proxies have done sporadically in the past). He still went ahead though and now his mess to deal with.

Iranian proxies have also attacked energy infrastructure in Iraq and Iran have hit in a number of Gulf states. Most worryingly Saudi, have threatened to intervene directly in the conflict if Iran continues to target their infrastructure (currently Saudi are increasing supplies through their pipelines to bypass Hormuz). So a real chance of escalation, even Hamas have asked Iran to reign in attacks on their neighbours…
