Wife’s boss (American, obvs) was at Germany v Ivory Coast. He got chatting to some Germany fans, one of whom said how excited he was for the premier league to start up because his favourite team, Ipswich, were back in it.

Austrian town renamed itself Fugging after the previous name resulted in their town signs continually being nicked...

On a similar note, my surname is also the name of a village in Norfolk - one day a rather inebriated mate of mine turned up on my doorstep with the village sign! Daft sod
