Going into a new season the home support at portman road will be full of expectations with the arrival of several players , costing a combined sum north of £150m .
In my opinion that optimism is justified. We have more experience in the squad than 2 years ago . Today's game will be far from easy and there are certainly some aspects of pre - season which worries me. Namely O'Shea is not a right back and the goalkeeper seems to be far from decided atm. Personally, when fit, I think Walton can consider himself very unlucky if he doesn't get another chance. Other than that , going forward we looked fluid , regained possession well and looked good on both sides of the field. Hopefully we have done enough to avoid another relegation. A long hard season ahead , i think both supporters and players will be aware of that. |  | | |  |

I think people should consider the cost of the team less vs the quality and type of player we have acquired this time around. Coventry have spend £120M or so, yet do not look considerably stronger, while we have spent only £30M more but look a very different outfit to how we finished last season.
