I'd like to ask advice on how I can get 2 tickets to a game this season (me and a mate). Have tried looking through the FAQ on the ticketing page but is unclear.

Last year tickets were available on general sale for every match, so if we wanted to go together I'd just buy 2 through the general sale.

My mate has a membership and 10 away points. Unfortunately I don't have a membership or points. We are linked as friends on our accounts.

So if we wanted to get 2 tickets together for a game this season, will he be able to enter the ballot for the both of us? Or can he only get one ticket that way as I don't have membership/points?

Any other advice for getting 2 tickets together for a game welcome (apart from hospitality). Cheers.

Buy a membership. That’s almost essential.

He can only enter the home ballot for himself.

You’re highly unlikely to get any away tickets. He may be able to, but will often be reliant on the away ballot.

You’ll have to buy a membership, I doubt any game will make general sale this season.

Thanks. If I get a membership, will that then allow us both to enter the ballot, and whoever gets in can get 2 tickets?

And from what I understand of what you said, he can't get me a ticket as friend/family unless I have a membership too?

You won’t be able to enter the ballot until next season if you get one for this season.

You’d be able to get tickets at the next stage when they open for members, so if you want two together he’d have to wait until then.

Thank Sitters.

If I do get a membership, what are the chances I can get a ticket? Have any games this season so far made it past the ballot to membership stage?

Obviously it would help for next season where I could enter the ballot hopefully. But would like to know what my chances would be for this season.

The home ballot is only 25% of available tickets, so 75% are always available for members.

It is popular/busy, but tickets are definitely ‘gettable’, so long as you’re available at/around 10am on a Monday morning.

It's also worth checking in every now and then as tickets pop up due to people not being able to attend the match, away team not fulfilling their allocation etc.

Your best bet may be to look in the week leading up to the game for anything that appears as it goes on the resale site, but getting 2 tickets together may be difficult and I appreciate it’s far from ideal if you don’t live locally

I decided to get a membership for this very reason. I kept checking the website for home tickets and managed to get a single seat in the West Stand for the Liverpool game. A pair of tickets did show up in the churchman’s lower but I’d already bought mine by then. Don’t think my membership made a difference.

It did. Only members (who aren’t season ticket holders) can buy Liverpool tickets.

I'm going to jump on this thread rather than starting a new one.

I live in Devon and only get up to Suffolk once a year. I usually manage to get to a game, either by getting the odd ticket on general sale, through a family member or last minute spares off this website.

I'd hope to get to 1 game this season but seems like I have 0 chance of getting one on general sale without a membership.

If people were to put last minute tickets up for sale on here, they'd have to add me as friends and family on their account? Presumably this wont happen very much anymore and it'll all go through the clubs resale channel.

yep can't see many people offering last minute tickets through the forum any more now everything's digital.

Shame used to be fairly-ish common back in the old league 1 days. Took my son to his first game thanks to a kind TWTDer offering up free tickets in the West Stand

Yeah I thought that would be the case.

I don't think I can justify a £45 membership on the off chance I might get a ticket to one game a season. Happy to follow from afar now, the price of success I suppose!
