Two away games now before the break... 11:37 - Sep 5 with 812 viewsTwoKnightsInIpswich

Palace and Everton!
These won't be easy but we should see these games as an opportunity to gain points.
Most Town fans didn't expect any points from Man U and Liverpool but, barring two ten minute spells, we proved we could live with the best.
If we go into the break with at least 5 points then I'd be happy, if we have more then great.
We have players building relationships with teammates and given time we will see us become more compact and harder to beat for the top teams.

Certainly not a time to panic but support the team.

Poll: Would you want Liam Delap back at Ipswich Town for the season ahead?

It’s crazy how tough this league is, but these are the games/oppositions we should be considering as having potential for points. They have to be if we’re going to survive.

Failure to take anything from either of these games really ough to be seen as a massive red flag. The idea of thinking that established Premier League clubs are going to be rolling over because we've spent a lot of money would be the biggest mistake we could make. We are going to have to go way beyond the Sunderland performance to beat either Palace or Everton in their own backyard.
The defence really concerns me and it is a squad game for a reason. Walton needs to be recalled and we probably need to play with 5 at the back to try to plug these massive O'Shea/Greaves gaps which are costing us so dearly.

Need to win at least one of them. Four points would be good.

It is, of course, exactly what they are thinking. This is their opportunity to get some points. Any points away from home in Premiership is good.

If we lose both I do fear for us this season. We spent heavily on midfield and attack and left 3/4 in defence that got us relegated last time. I’m not sure why the powers that be thought it any different this time.

It's a recipe for disaster to fail to strengthen at the back imho. O'Shea looks miles off it to me and the less said about Greaves the better.
