But to me , we are repeating our last season in PL , if we are playing 4-2-3-1 against Man Utd and Liverpool , I take it we will do it every game. It seems crazy playing 4 attacking players when you know you are up sgainst it most games, 3 at the back and 5 in midfield has to be our only way of survival , particularly with the players we have . Matisuwa must be put in there. At the moment we are in danger of repeating 2 seasons ago with a different manager. We beat Sunderland. We didn't realistically expect to get anything from the following 2 games. Had we set up differently, we might have ground at a 2-0 defeat at Old Trafford and a grim 0-1 last night.
Let's see how the games against the mid ranking clubs pan out before clamouring for change. If we lose comfortably at Palace & Everton, then maybe have a re-think about style of play & how high is our defensive line. |  |

A concern I have is that when O’Neil arrived he said something along the lines of there will be tactics for specific games, however in all three so far, 2 against the biggest clubs in the league we have no adapted or changed shape, at least to my understanding when watching it from the stand.
I did think we might adapt a more compact approach against the top 6 sides to stay in the games rather than try to go toe to toe with them and give them the space to create a lot of chances against us, but you do have to give some credit to the quality and speed of the top top players in this league.
Last night I don’t think we troubled Liverpool at any point, and Liverpool were playing within themselves after the 2nd, but I didn’t expect results against them type of sides but getting a win at palace next week again puts us ahead of the 1 point per game which has to be the aim.
I’m optimistic that this side can keep us up by getting the wins against the 12/13 teams we have to target results against. | | | |

The next five games are going to be key. All winnable. I’m not saying we will win them all of course but … we should be picking up points.
The concern remains the goalie and the defence which frankly looks no better than the last time we were relegated. | | | |
