Academy striker or midfielder Paul Murphy has been called into the Republic of Ireland U16 squad for Thursday's friendly against Wales in Whitehall, Dublin.

Murphy joined the academy in the summer after a year with Dublin club Home Farm, where Owen Garvan's father is a coach. Prior to that he was with his local side Wexford Albion.

The 15-year-old scored his first goal for the Irish U16s last month in a 2-2 draw in Croatia.
