![]() Wednesday, 7th Feb 2007 15:25 Striker Danny Haynes says that he scored England's third goal during his U19 debut against Poland last night and not Everton's James Vaughan as widely reported. Haynes was introduced as a sub as the England youngsters defeated the Poles 4-1 at Bournemouth's Dean Court. The Town frontman told the club site the third goal was his: "That's my goal! "It was a great thrill to play for my country, it was wicked and I really enjoyed it. "I went on at half-time and couldn't wait to get going and I was really pleased with the way it went. "The football was a bit slower than I expected, but I settled into the game well and the manager said he was pleased with what I did. "I knew some of the lads but it was my first experience of playing for my country so there were a few nerves, but it couldn't have gone any better. "I was really disappointed to have missed out after getting named in the squad a few months back and then having to pull out with injury, but this makes up for it. "It's given me a real lift, a real boost to my confidence."
