![]() Tuesday, 24th Jul 2007 12:58 Town will have to pay fees if they want to sign either of their two current trialists. César Navas, 27, still has a year left on his Málaga contract, while Arsène Menessou, 19, has been released by Le Havre but, as he is below 24 years of age, compensation would be due to the French second division club. Boss Jim Magilton says Navas has done well in his time at Playford Road up to now: “We will have a look at César tonight, and take it from there. I have been impressed with what I have seen from the lad in training.” Madrid-born Navas was a youngster with Real Madrid's reserve Castilla set-up before moving on to Málaga's B side and then progressing into their first team, where he was a team-mate of Pablo Couñago. Navas has the unfortunate distinction of being relegated from La Liga two seasons running, joining Gimnà stic de Tarragona last year on loan after going down 12 months earlier with Málaga. Both players will be involved in tonight's friendly at Crawley Town (KO 7.45pm). Get the fastest and most comprehensive Ipswich Town news service at ipswichtown.footballlatest.co.uk.
