Town's home win streak may have come to an end with the 0-0 draw with Barnsley at the weekend, but the Blues can still work towards a record home unbeaten run. However, they have a long, long way to go.

The draw with Barnsley took Town's unbeaten home record to 13 games, but Jim Magilton's side will have to put in months and months of similarly excellent form to replicate the 46-match home unbeaten run which stretched from October 1979 to April 1981.

Town's most recent impressive unbeaten home run was 16 games, which was ended by a 2-0 home defeat to West Ham on New Year's Day 2005.

All Town's home unbeaten games up to now have come in the league and the league-only record is a 33-game run which ended in March 1981. Town's most recent top unbeaten home league streak was 14 games, also ended by the West Ham defeat on New Year's Day 2005.

The Barnsley game was Town's fourth consecutive home match without conceding a goal. The Blues have managed six in a row on three occasions, across the end of 1979/80 and the beginning of 1980/81, in 1965/1966 and in 1986/1987. They managed five in 1987/88 and four in 1999/00.

The 1979/80-1980/81 run is the only time the Blues have managed six home clean sheets in a row in the league.
