McAuley Linked Once Again
McAuley Linked Once Again

The Blues' expected move for Leicester City central defender Gareth McAuley is the most prominent Town story in Sunday's tabloids. The Northern Irishman was one of Jim Magilton's main targets in January, but despite several offers failed to land the 28-year-old.

However, the Foxes' relegation to League One has seen McAuley mentioned in connection with the Blues on almost a daily basis with a £1 million fee reported on several occasions.

Another Northern Irish international, striker David Healy, us also widely tipped to be a Blues target over the summer. Healy's availability may be affected by whether Fulham remain a Premier League side after today's final round of fixtures.

Meanwhile, a report in Spain says Town will be represented at today's La Liga derby clash between Levante and Valencia, along with Spurs and West Brom.

In January Spanish reports claimed the Blues had also watched Levante with Dutch frontman Rahamat Mustapha, known in Spain as Riga, said to be the subject of their interest.

Born in Accra, Ghana, 26-year-old Riga grew up in Holland and was with Vitesse Arnhem, RBC Roosendaal and Sparta Rotterdam before joining the La Liga table-proppers in 2005.

Prior to his switch to Spain, the Dutch press linked the former Holland U20 international with Town and a number of other Championship sides.

Levante were relegated some weeks ago and are in major financial strife with the players starting last week's game against Deportivo La Coruña by making an on-field protest regarding unpaid wages. A mass exodus is widely expected over the summer.

Elsewhere, former Blue Martijn Reuser, now 33, has been linked with a close season move from current club RKC Waalwijk to NAC Breda.
