Jordan Rhodes's Rochdale lost 2-0 at home to high-flying Dagenham and Redbridge, the Town youngster playing the full 90 minutes of his fourth game for Dale.

Liam Trotter and Grimsby were on the wrong end of a 4-1 scoreline at Rotherham, the midfielder making his third appearance for the League Two side.

Dan Harding picked up his third yellow card of the season as Southend won 2-1 away at Yeovil Town.

Matt Richards and Brighton drew 3-3 at home to Cheltenham, while Chris Casement was again an unused sub as Hamilton Academical lost 4-0 at Celtic.

Town cut short Ed Upson's spell at Stevenage last week due to his lack of first team action with Boro. Upson made only a single fleeting sub appearance for the Blue Square Premier side and was recalled after one month of a three-month spell.
